David Šimunić – Executive Chef at Square Nine Hotel, Belgrade

A former architecture student, a chef by calling – on the plate, he combines his two greatest passions: drawing and cooking.

Every dish begins as a sketch, and every preparation starts with a pencil.

After shaping his skills at Intercontinental, New York Restaurant, Balašević, Šeher, Novak – and six years at Salon 1905 – he returns to his first love: Square Nine Hotel in Belgrade.

He believes good cuisine is a balance of logic and passion, structure and freedom – and that imagination is nothing without knowledge.

Michelin-recommended and named a “chef of the future” by Gault & Millau, David is coming on June 14 to sketch an experience you won’t forget.

In duet with our chef Petar Ćorković, he will craft the flavors of modern Balkan cuisine, paired with exceptional wines.
